About GridExperience

GridExperience is a 3D virtual reality world composed of many different regions. Each region is unique, offering a different experience for the user to enjoy. Experiences as varied as exploring Ancient Rome to walking the decks of the starship Enterprise are possible on the various regions. GridExperience is running on the OpenSimulator software platform which is a lot like Second-Life™. The biggest difference between OpenSimulator and Second-Life™ is the ability for the user to travel to other grids. Hundreds of grids throughout the world are loosely interconnected into what is referred to as the hypergrid. Users can travel the hypergrid through a method called teleporting which is fully supported by the OpenSimulator software running GridExperience. The things that you can do on the hypergrid and GridExperience are truly amazing. You can meet new people, explore interesting places, and participate in special events. If you wish, you can even build your own virtual home and region.

Visiting GridExperience

GridExperience exists for the enjoyment of our family, friends, and visitors. We do not offer user accounts or rent land. While many regions on GridExperience are private, we do keep the welcome region open to hypergrid visitors. We also open various regions on GridExperience to hypergrid visitors for special events, shopping, and open-houses. Check our blog and event calendar for more information.
